Indie creators selling ebooks, templates, and courses
Gumroad is creator commerce: sell digital products, courses, and memberships with hosted checkout and audience tooling.
gumroad.com/pricing (March 2026) advertises no monthly platform fee. Transaction fees are 10% + $0.50 for sales through your profile or direct links, and 30% when new customers buy via the Discover marketplace funnel. Since January 1, 2025, Gumroad markets itself as merchant of record, handling sales tax/VAT/GST collection and remittance globally so creators avoid running their own tax stack (read updated Terms for your jurisdiction).
Compare Lemon Squeezy and Paddle when you need MoR with lower headline take rates but different product fit; compare Stripe when you want full control and bring your own tax.
